Description

The Council wishes to purchase 50 body worn video camera kits for a number of service areas, these having been identified as a potential means of reducing assaults on frontline staff.

The cameras and associated equipment and software (‘Body Worn Video Camera Kits’) must be able to produce images and sound of a standard that will be acceptable as evidence to the Police, Crown Prosecution Service and the Courts.

The equipment will be used by a few different service areas within the Council. As such the cameras will be issued to the users at several separate locations around Leicester City but the data collected from the equipment will be stored at the Council’s data centre and processed (viewed/extracted for evidential purposes) at any of the Council offices.

The Council may require additional Body Worn Video Camera Kits’ and associated support services during the term of the contract and it is anticipated that potentially the Council may require up to 150 additional Body Worn Video Camera Kits’. The Council may be requiring additional Body Worn Video Camera Kits’ and/or associated support services however this is not guaranteed.
